I was recently given a
Fenix L2D
flashlight as a gift, and it is without doubt the brightest LED light I have
ever laid my hands on. With multiple settings it can put out an amazing 180
lumens in turbo mode, or for times when battery life is most important it can
run for 55 hours in power saving mode. All this from a torch powered by two AA
batteries! The model I was given has a smooth reflector for maximum throw, a
textured reflector is also available, which provides a wider spill of light.

Other models in the range that have
caught my eye include the
Fenix P3D,
which uses CR123A batteries and has a maximum output of 215 lumens. As with the
L2D it is made from aircraft grade aluminium and is waterproof to IPX-8
standards.
